He has been atrocious at times but defensively in the first few weeks of Sam's tenure, he improved. Weirdly enough, I'd back him in a one-on-one with most players we go up against (not the top teams evidently). He isn't good enough. He's massively limited and at the moment not having a left-back capable of using his left foot or getting past the half-way line is killing us. I get that. I'm not disputing it - we need massively better but it is what it is and if we hadn't got him in, who would we have been playing there?
Some other right footed defender, I suppose. I suspect they would have been terrible out there as well. Martina was terrible at RB as well though, his apparent position, the "Burnley Incident" occured when he was occupying his specialist position. I'd rather play Walcott at left back (and right back) (mods - on topic :D).

Don't panic.
Theres only about 2 weeks of the transfer window left.

No way we get another deal done in such a short space of time.

...Arsenal fans seem delighted at the prospect of losing him.
It is hard to understand what is happening there.
They are about to lose their two best players for practically nothing and then decide to sell Walcott as well and as we know Giroud was available as well last summer.
Walcott seems to have fallen massively out of favour with Wenger but when played he seemed to deliver for them.

...this fella says Walcott ‘has all the durability of a wet paper bag’;

An absolute snip for one of our rivals' best players.

There's still a lot of untapped potential in Theo and the fact he turned down the RS and couple of times in the recent past makes him an instant favourite . The kid clearly recognises that we're on the up and they're a club in decline.
Or Wenger realises at Walcott's age that the only way is down and he was never that effective as a player.

I think they are about to sign Malcom though and he is going to be some player.
