Mate, if Martinez would have been content with a DOF role I'd have been delighted as I was 100% behind his vision for the club. But his days were numbered as a coach as he was too stubborn to a system that didn't work for the quality of player he had at his disposal. In the end it wasn't the fans that caused his downfall, it was the players because bar Robles, every single one of them stopped playing for him.
Says more about some players than the methods being employed by him. If honest my point is certain factions of our fan base wouldn't give a new progressive manager any time to build...

Replace Bolasie with Walcott in that game and the final score is still Spurs 4-0 Everton. I have in no way changed my mind that spending £20m on a bang average Theo Walcott is ridiculous business.
But it's the bigger picture, in the near future we aren't going to get many points against the top 6 sides, Walcott would be the difference in many games against the teams 7th and below.

We've already got enough to see off teams outside the top 6. Like us they're all bloody awful in all honesty.

Bournemouth A lost Southampton A lost, WBA A draw. Palace A draw, Leicester A lost, that's 5 games we haven't won, granted they were away but we should be beating most of them, I've probably forgot others to. I'm not sure we do have enough, we just can't attack.

We'll keep losing those games with Walcott in my opinion. Although tbh, I think with the current manager we could have Messi up there and we'd still have problems with attacking.

The theory is, he wants to stake a claim for a place in the England squad for Russia. Beyond that though, I see your point.

Fair enough mate.

Curious though, do you think he’s really arsed about the World Cup?

I mean do they get paid that much more for playing for England?, and even if it was worth it, what’s the point? England are terrible, the world hates them, they’ll under perform, be out of the competition within a week, and get sent home with their tails between their legs.

Would you move house for that?

How does he improve us though? Who would he have played instead of today and would it have made a difference?

Why can't we improve by being a bit more creative in our transfers than a 28 year old bench warmer who is surplus to requirements at his current club? We've got to start somewhere. I bet you're absolutely livid about some of the business we did this summer. By advocating signing Walcott you're just asking for exactly more of that.

Bolasie for a start.

I don’t even think Walcott is that amazing, but he’s an upgrade on Lennon, he can run with the ball and is a goal threat. With our current shambles, i’ll take that.

Of course his signing needs to be combined with signing young players who can potentially star in the future. But out wide we have Lookman, Vlasic and Onyekuru who fit that bill. In the meantime we need someone who can come in and hit the ground running in that position.

One thing we don’t need is a young up and coming winger with potential.

Point taken on Bolasie. I just think Walcott will be more of that. Here's hoping he isn't.

The fact we can't defend either makes it all the more worrying.

I'm not saying Walcott on his own will solve the problems but he will help, attacking more helps the defence simply because they don't have to defend when the teams attacking.natural LB and Walcott imo would have improved us in them games.
