I recall Zat saying we should sell Walcott due to his age before the season started and he’s been one of our most effective players so far in this, granted, very early stage.

The above posts were a seemingly failed attempt to make jest of this.

That said I do wonder now if it was @Zatara who was saying that we should sell Walcott now...

I said when we signed him that he would be good for the end of last season + this season...

Then...tail off.

So, for me it wasnt a good signing seeing as its not going to push for Top 4 now or in the future.

Imagine if we signed Malcom back in Jan (for example)...a bit of a forward step.

Or he could have flopped and been a rubbish signing.

Just worry about now. He is doing well like you said, we don't need to worry about the future as much as we used to in the past, not every signing needs to have resale value.

Yes, Walcott is scoring and assisting far too many goals. Let's get rid.

It’s just not that simple mate. We bought Walcott for immediate impact and he guarantees goals and pace on the counter in this league.

For the record we’ll get at least 2 more decent seasons out of him imo, and when he moves on it’ll be for a modest fee to America or something so really it’s a signing that makes sense as it gives you something to rely on. And when you’ve got players you can rely on it takes the pressure of any younger player we might sign i.e. Lookman or Richarlison

Lets say he scores 15 goals next season and we finish 7th. Whats the point?

Lookman is better on the left or centre....

We dont have any natural quick players to replace him and if (as you say) we bring in a younger player it should be to replace him.

I think in Jan or next summer we will be begin working on the centre midfield and right side. Wouldnt be surprised to see another Richarlison/Bernard type come in from South America.

You’ve lost the plot here.
