I see Walcott as a stopgap player.

As you stated in the Digne thread, he relies on pace. For someone who has had numerous injuries (another today) and is 30 in March, how long will his pace last?

He's effective and certainly a good player. Is he as good as Salah? For me, he's not as good as his opposite number, Richarlison.

If we could get our money back for him in January or next summer + go for Lozano (23, 8 games and 6 goals this season) or someone else with that profile then i'd swap them in a flash.

Name a winger in Europe that doesn't rely on pace.

Pace is a prerequisite for the position. So they all rely on it

I think Lookman has potential but I’m not sure he’s ready yet for a first 11 spot
Marcel will know the correct way to bring him up to speed

I recall Zat saying we should sell Walcott due to his age before the season started and he’s been one of our most effective players so far in this, granted, very early stage.

The above posts were a seemingly failed attempt to make jest of this.

That said I do wonder now if it was @Zatara who was saying that we should sell Walcott now...
