I didn't call him 'the best player'. I said 'one of our best'. Everyone was poor against Huddersfield but that doesn't write off his 2 goals and 1 assist this season. He has been one of our best and any talk of selling him is pure lunacy.
I'm saying mate in tough games like today good players and teams with ambition grind out 2-1 wins. Walcott didn't pull his socks up and work hard enough in my opinion. We dont have enough players ie... tim cahill or arteta to grind out a result. We have walcott and siggy and others who settle for 7th or 8th.

oh ffs, shut up

it's got f all to do with ambition.

we couldn't find a way through, it happens.

Madness in this thread. Been one of our best since arriving and people want to sell him.
Absolutely agree, complete nonsense in this thread. Apparently if he’s not Salah (probably in the top 5 players in world football in the last year) then he’s Aaron Lennon. If we would have known how to shut up shop against Bournemouth he would have been seen as winning us that game pretty much on his own with his goal and getting them down to 10 men as well. Yet apparently a week later he never steps up and wins games for us? Yesterday he got injured before his best spell in most matches which is when players start to tire and he can run at them even more effectively because even at 29 he IS rapid.
He won’t be a star for years and years to come because he’s nearly 30 but to talk about selling him in January is pathetic!

Erm, he went off injured lad.

We all want to win, but lets be realistic. We have loads of players injured that would start.

..... He's a similar signing to when we got Aaron Lennon in 2015. Experienced, proven, and gives us something different to what we had previously (out-and-out winger with pace). We'll get a couple of seasons, maybe three, of good service out of him before he perhaps moves down to a lower-level PL or Championship team.
Hot take.
