20 games. 5 goals and 4 assists. Hardly rubbish stats. He will win us a few games this season so I think some of the criticism of him is unfair.
The cross was superb and sealed the business against a poor side.
But would argue he will contribute to losing as many matches for us if -
1. he cannot defend the length of his wing
2. receive the ball and play in tight spaces both in deep and attacking areas.
There's big question over whether he can do this up to the quality required to in PL in Silvas system on the RW.
I think Silva is making a mistake playing him there.
Anyone arguing that putting in a cross like he did and having the goal/assists stats he's got - is good enough enough in itself - is not making the link btwn that and only having 9 points on the board.

Nowhere near his best yesterday. Put in a great cross tho for our Cenk though, so can't complain. Would love to see him under more pressure for a place but I think with Lookmans obvious attitude problem, and Bernard I think being seen as Lw, hell have a clear run at that RW berth.

Stop comparing Ronaldo to walcott.
Ronaldo wanted to leave and become a Madrid legend.
Walcott left arsenal and came here because he wasn't starting anymore
Hmmm. Ronaldo was in the top two players in the world when he left utd. If he can leave a club without protests then I dont think measuring walcott against protests is an accurate barometer of how good he is as a player.

It’s weird when you see a player week in week out and take him for granted. Remeber when he signed? The improvement to our right hand side was immense , and , he wasn’t playing at the top of his game. I remeber him looking good on the ball, working hard, getting his head up and looking for someone to be somewhere and seeing nobody, looking up expecting to see someone actually moving like they did at Arsenal. He scored a few goals, he’s got a couple this season and a couple of assists. We signed him for 20m which is a cheap fee for a PL player these days. So we can’t use his price tag to bash him with like people do for siggy, so it must be his workrate? No, because he works hard his attitude? No he comes across very professional and well spoken his injury record? Nope he seems to be injured no more than any other player .... his productivity? 7 games and 2 goals and 2 assists isn’t exactly bad . People seem to remeber the bad things and take the good for granted. His control was off the last two games he could have scored at the Emirates and played badly imo, but he hit two shots against Fulham , the first being a decent effort imo and got an assist? Yet people knit pick that he didn’t look up before he crossed? When you train with someone everyday you learn things like, when he’s going to cross, where he’s going to be, where he prefers the ball etc. 20m for a player of walcotts attitude, experience, professionalism and productivity is very good value imo. Bolasie cost 27m ffs

Walcott was effective this weekend. Thought he was poor against Arsenal and West Ham. Good for him to bounce back.

let's not pretend that he looked up, saw Tosun at the back post and put in a measured cross. It was just a hit and hope and he got lucky. Apart from that, as has already been said on here, his decision making is rubbish, he gives away possession far too much and when he does get a chance of a shot he puts in a 'powder puff' effort straight back to the opposition goal keeper. we will never be any good until we get rid of him

Totally ignores the instinct of playing in a team. Besides it's the striker job to be there waiting for such crosses, that's been the problem for a few matches up until Fulham... You've been rightly pillowed.

I’m pretty sure that some people use got as therapy. Moaning about issues that don’t exist to hide from the real sadness in there lives. It deep, but it’s the explanation I can find for the constant desire to criticise someone like Walcott after a 3-0 victory.
That or they are RAWKERS on black ops missions

He was inconsistent at arsenal and became a bit part player, hence why he was sold and none of the top 6 touched him even at 20m.

Yes. He’s inconsistent

But he played near enough 300 league and cup games, played in the champions league, won trophies at arsenal and was an international regular

He definitely ‘made it’.

The guy hasn't played for England since he was 26 or 27.
He had a chance(more then most) to become a regular first team but never made it. He was always in and out of the team due to consistency

In fairness Wenger played him regularly right up until his last season as his goal return and assists from outwide were always good. He’s carried on doing that here. He’s had some bad injuries but when he’s fit and playing his output is consistent. He’s a class above the likes of Bolasie and even Lennon (who I liked for his pace and work ethic but had little end product). He was very poor against Arsenal though.

It was a perfect cross. Why does Walcott need to look if he is producing quality like that from the byline?

If Tosun wasn't on the end of that, it'd be his fault.
