We do it to ourselves. It’s not that he deserves time and all that. He was our only replacement on the wings with pace apart from Gordon (who Carlo is allergic to playing).

I get that Carlo was trying to send a message about our options not being good enough on the wing with the Gomes and Gylfi trolling, but we willingly chose to let our only pacy backup option (apart from Ant who don’t get no play) go. Classic Everton.

Doesn't really fit our system and actual wingers are a dying breed nowadays (no one plays them). Saints playing him up top is a good shout.

I agree we shouldn't have let him go. But I think the conversation had would've been...you ain't getting much game time and you're on big wages, would you like to leave on loan?
