This nurse Letby case

It's pretty clear that the defence strategy was always to keep their powder dry to a time when the case was over and their own evidence and experts could be heard above the din of cranks - like that BBC hack you linked, for example - so that it gained a fair hearing in a calmer environment.

This conviction is as unsafe as any other miscarriage of justice there's been and the outcome will be to release her.

That is only your contrarian opinion @davek

At least two separate cases and two juries (one in the original trial and one in the recent retrial) have now convicted her on the evidence

Well the jury come to that decision yes. I wasn't a member of of that jury for a year.

I don't think questioning evidence is a problem. But it doesn't mean she is innocent. Far from it.
It does not mean you are innocent either. It is not the first time a case has been built with selective evidence. I dont know who did it but there appears to be more than enough doubt. Due to the press she was guilty before the trial

He wasn't about Randy Lerner @Hinchcliffe's Corner @PITA and in "the long game" when they were relegated he lost it.
I was being sarcastic. He started off saying that it was all made up and was highly critical of Boris Johnson for trying to spread panic due to his agenda.

Then, when it became all too clear that it was real he became fervent about it and slammed anyone who didn't recognise it. Classic about turn.

BTW, being critical of Johnson was not a bad thing but he picked the wrong hill to die on.

You are right. It is a pattern @PITA

She will, but mainly because the medical profession are scared of 'copycat' convictions going forward.

The case against her on statistical, medical and 'psychological' grounds is like a Swiss cheese - full of holes.

She'll be released because, more than likely, she's innocent. This is all explained by an under-staffed and under-performing neo-natal unit. If anyone is to blame it's the senior consultants who are medical experts but who just went along with the under-resourced plans of the hospital trust. They need locking up for their criminal negligence.
