I guess that is the reason I want Unsworth to succeed.
There is simply no bigger club in the world for him than Everton. This isn't a job, it is an honour.

If he achieved unbelievable feats here he would not have his head turned by a Real or a Bayern as an outsider would.
He wants to make Everton the very best. As we all would.

really? i'm pretty sure he would like a go at the real job if offered it(what world is this now??)

He had five years at Mainz and established them as a Bundesliga side - ' he finished his Mainz career with a record of 72 wins, 46 draws, and 64 losses.[11] Tuchel later said of his decision to leave the club: "I couldn’t see how we could reinvent ourselves once more the coming summer." '

Then he went to Dortmund. Which as I've just been through he left because he didn't believe a club wanting to challenge in Europe and domestically should be open to selling their best players.

Also, he wasn't happy with the lack of support the board offered after the coach bombing.

You seem to be picking faults where there aren't any mate.

Defensively, he isn't great. That'd be the risk - and whether he could adapt to Prem football.

Had quite a few issues with players and the board.

After Koeman and his recent issues with the players, would we want someone of the same temprement??

Had issues with senior players thinking they should walk into every starting XI regardless of form, supposedly.

I don't mind that.

I think we have a good chance Goat, if he's our no.1 target.

He may well not even be on the list, but I think the way that we acted over Koeman suggests that something happened on Sunday/Monday that indicated someone would be more than willing to take the job (which isn't really saying much, as there's loads out there that would). But given Moshiri's desire for a 'name', it'd suggest it's someone relatively established/big.

That being said, clearly we're also willing to take our time on this (not too much time, like) and trust Unsworth.

If it means getting through the next four games and making a final appointment during the international break, so be it.

This has to be the right call.

4 very tough games coming up, infact, looking at the fixtures, given our current "form", im struggling to see any "easy" games upcoming, thats the state we are currently in.

If Unsworth can get results/performances then we will defo take our time, of course if things start going badly we will increase the speed, but if for example Carlo or Tommy T say yes, well thats that then.

it seems most football managers are dicks

look at mourinho....its just players/fans put up with the dickishness if they win trophies..

From The Independent:

"Tuchel's biggest problem is that the players, so often on the coach's side in these disputes, are also against him. The 43-year-old's assistant, an old-school disciplinarian by the name of Rainer Schrey, was so hated by the squad that he was asked to leave the club this summer - the only question, now emphatically answered, was whether Tuchel would follow him."

From the Mail:

"This weekend, Sahin was once again at the heart of a dispute, after Tuchel left him out of the squad for the final. The decision was openly criticised by other players after the game, even as Dortmund celebrated their first title in five years.

'When Julian Weigl is injured, Nuri is the only one who can really replace him properly in defensive midfield,' said captain Marcel Schmelzer.

'It really shocked me, I didn't understand it at all. The coach would have to explain why he did it. We all completely stand behind Nuri.'

With such open criticism from his own captain just hours after the cup triumph, Tuchel must have already begun to pack his bags."

Doesn't sound purely board related to me.

Think all managers will have some issues with players, key thing is they still performed for him, and wasn't until he was saxcked that i think the captain piped up about 'sahin' being left out the cup final i think it was, which given he said he was irreplaceable - and they went and won the game, makes the captain look a bit of a clueless blert really.

He 100% fell out with the CEO though, about player sales and the final straw seemed to be the bus attack and the CEO bending over for Uefa and playing the game the next day, don't blame Tuchel for disagreeing with that like

Yet the young players have all spoken highly of him as well...

Sahin was bloody awful last season when he did play for them.

There probably was some tension, but - and i won't say I watched enough of Dortmund last season to comment fully, though I did see the cup final and a few lg games towards the end of his tenure - I didn't see a side lacking belief. They came strong at the end of last season to make sure they got automatic CL qualification and win the cup.

At the start of the 15/16 season, when I did cover them a lot, they looked superb.

Lads we're in the relegation zone and haven't come close to winning anything in over 20 years, what realistic hope do we have of attracting a manager who wants to win titles and compete in the champions league ? You say money... well how did that money do when trying to land our top targets the past 3 seasons ? not very well.

He's now the bookies favourite to be the next Bayern manager as well.

Never happening in a million years

Beyond parody.

I 1000% support signing Tuchel if we could pull it off. He was managing a top 10 team in the world in the Champions league just a year ago. While he may take some time to adapt, I think with bringing in the young defensive talents like Keane and Pickford helps give him an easier transition. Bring in one more top CB, and a top LB/RB, and we can wait out offensive struggles with a solid core in back.
