Big Nev congratulated them as well, both have been widely panned
Maybe they are using a bit of psychology in congratulating them knowing that then the kopites will leave them in peace but he did infortunately get loads of stick from our fans .

He was probably told to congratulate them by the Sky divs now that he is working for them. Cannot see him doing it off his own bat. He despised them just as much as the supporters did back in the day and had more passion than this whole current Everton side combined.

You do what you have to do to get on once you are retired and need a steady income so who cares really.

No way people are foaming at the mouth because former players congratulated Liverpool, I mean lads..............come on...

I miss having him in our team.

If not for all the goals he brought to the team just for his sheer determination, effort and passion. The lad didn’t stop working at all. Never sh-it out of a challenge or header, was as much of a neusance for the opposition in our attacking third as he was getting back to help out defensively.

It’s quite ironic that for some of the stick I gave the team under Moyes at times, I would love to have the same level of effort and determination from this current lot at as we used to get from the players of that period.

Richarlison is probably the closest player we have had to Cahill in recent years.

Aye. Recently saw Siggy pull out of an 80/20 challenge that was in his favour and just yearned for the days when we had a midfield who gave a toss

Cahill Gravesen Carsley the first half of 04/05 just bullying midfields every week. Power, aggression, desire, plus all three could play.

When you put those three names in a row, it really is clear what we're missing. None of our mids has anywhere near the level of aggression that any one of them had, and we haven't had a midfielder fit to lace their boots since Gueye

Signed with us on this day 16 years ago. Absolutely loved Tim Cahill as a player, and he was pretty much the reason I started supporting Everton

Was he injured at the start of his 2nd season? Looks like he doesn't score his 1st goal that season until 31st December away at Sunderland but I can't remember what kind of injury he had.
