Tim Cahill

Cahill not fit to lace Duncan's boots in my opinion. I get he gave it a go but for me at least was never someone I could take to. You're right he showed a bit of fight and determination but we were a pub team in those days that suited his limited ability.

Jeffers had all the skill in the world but wasted it like nobody's business. I remember at the time thinking he'd be our Fowler for a decade. Such a shame. On that basis though - all the skill plus a tough story of how it can be frittered all away - isnt he the perfect coach for our younger ones?
Cahill is one of the players that can say that he lived up to the motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum. He gave his all and did his best at all times. He forged a decent career with his talent and attitude here, at Millwall and internationally. He may not have been as divinely talented as Messi or Ronaldinho, but very few are. He accomplished his potential and not many can say that.

As for being a coach, I think he has that in him too. Might not be here, but I can see him doing well wherever he ends up. Good luck to him, and I wish him success.

What is this Cahill slander? mate?

Talk about heart and desire! Not sure he ever went missing in a game (Dunc did for sure!) Tim would drag the entire team behind him.

Awesome guy and wish he was in this team now inspiring this bunch of gutless girls

Dont say awesome mate it's not baseball.

No slander mate. He made a contribution for sure just not my cup of tea. He had a face you'd want to smack.

He'd have been a real star in the 70s/80s but been badly exposed by today's pace and awareness (same as Duncan).
What are you talking about ?? Badly exposed ?? He was getting old. Unbelievably it happens to everybody. Cahill was a terrific player for Everton in his day, scored a fair few against far better teams than ours at the time. Best not try to change history eh.

Opinions. He was never terrific in my book. Our style suited him. The lad had a career at Millwall and an average Everton. There's a reason he was never linked with a move away in all those years as other, better, teams could see his deficiencies.
