Basically this thread:

Joey66/Eric Djemba Djemba: Tim Howard is the worst player in history and every goal we've conceded is his fault.

Dougie/me/a couple others: He's playing poorly and should be dropped, but that doesn't mean that Robles is the answer to all our problems. Robles relied on some outstanding defending for his clean-sheets and showed himself to be liable to commit other errors. Meanwhile defensive errors have been present for a lot of the goals that Howard has conceded recently. So while Howard probably should be dropped, it's not as if Robles is the answer to all of our problems, and there's really nothing to indicate he would have done much better during Howard's recent run. Maybe we should actually discuss the context of both Howard's goals and Robles' clean sheets instead of making sweeping and hyperbolic judgments.

Oh for a goal keeper like that - see the way he positions, catches the ball, and is not stuck on his line! Also never fell on his AR@E once - so more agile - only if we had a keeper who could keep a clean sheet - oh I forgot a we have one his name is Joel Robles ! Three games he made saves and commanded his area but got treated like a dog - oh I forgot that dog was better than Tim Howard!lol

Confirmed as our worst player this season. Not really suprising considering he's been throwing the ball into his own net about 5 times a game.

Totally agree he needs a break, Robles did ok & after a nervy start he began enjoying one of the best runs of form of his career including 3 consecutive clean sheets
He has only played about 50+ games (18 for us)
He's only 24 & on a five-year contract
I think he can do a good job but he must be given a decent run in the 1st team
