There’s probably a bit of overlap. I doubt this would have ever happened if not for our PSR situation, but I also expect that he fits a profile of midfielder we’re hoping to get into the long term projection of the club.

For all we know it’s three years with the club having the option for another year or two. Makes sense as to ensure he develops, rather than be stuck with him for five years.
