2024/25 Tim Iroegbunam

Watching today i think would help him being in a mid 3 and let him carry and join the attack. Think should work on garner gana tim

He should replace doucs if dyche isn’t willing to change the system …. Doucs is meant to be box to box but unfortunately he can’t kick a footy and is usually the oppositions best defender. Garner and gana with Tim in docs position would help us massively

He's a different player to N'Diaye who was running past players with what looked like utter contempt yesterday, very impressive to watch

Iroegbunam is more like an all rounder. He seems to know where to be to intercept a lot. I'm watching him thinking, this is the sort of player Onana should have been for us

You've correctly stated that Iroegbunam is a different player to Ndiaye.

Then suggested Onana 'should have been a similar all-rounded' player to Iroegbunam.

Both Lampard and Dyche fell into this trap. Playing Onana as a CM and both saying its to "improve and develop his all round game".

If either manager had thought to use Onana in his actual anchor role then perhaps we'd have seen the best of him, rather than forcing him to adapt to an unfamiliar role.

Perhaps then we may have now been seeing Onana as the anchor and Iroegbunam & Garner in CM ahead of him.

He's been good but please take him out of the team and get Garner in alongside Gueye. Tim can come on with fresh legs for the final 30 minutes - he'll probably be more useful that way at the moment. If he starts, then he shouldn't be asked to play past the hour mark, as he demonstrated against Bournemouth that he doesn't have the legs for it yet - which is completely understandable.
Why would we bench our best player?

What a bizarre take from the weekend. Timmy shouldn't start because he tired at the end when he was a huge and instrumental part in why we were 2-0 up and cruising in the first place?

Wouldnt go as far as benching him but his minutes should be getting looked at abit.
There will be a point were his form dips and he will need taking out for a rest/refresh.

Absolutely class again til his legs went from his efforts and brain fog took hold. Let down completely by the manager, as were a few other players. I hope it doesn’t damage the lads development.

Surely a midfield three of Tim, garner and Mangala is where we are headed, with Gana coming on and at a push doucure later in the game?

Just can't get that weak attempt of a tackle out of my head which he tried to make on I think Ryan Christie, who strolled through the entire midfield.

….from a standing start he can go past players like they’re not there, bit of a Rolls Royce engine in that lad. Looks like he’s struggling to see out games which is something both he and the manager will have to manage but he’s a cocky, confident footballer with ability to match.

Already looks a good blend with Ndiaye, it’s exactly what I said about the Pienaar/Baines connection, it’s not something good players particularly work on, it’s just that they’re on the same wavelength. Get them playing in the same areas of the pitch and seek the rewards.

Looks a bit too good to be true but hope he continues to impress as he’s a player I really like to watch.

He just needs to be subbed off when he's tired. He's 21, this is really his first PL season, the manager who preaches PL experience needs to take care of this guy.

He was outstanding. Again. But was running in quicksand at the end.
Imagine the stick Onana would have got ambling back as midfielders had free headers in the box.

Onana wouldn't have played the other 85 mins to an extremely high level though and his ambling often occurred from minute 1. If a player tires the manager needs to sub him. Garner could easily have come on and also needs minutes.
