2024/25 Tim Iroegbunam

Same here, Im very impressed by him. Hes good at grabbing the ball in midfield and shifting us into attack by actually running at the opposition - less of that slow, unsure passing we always do.
If he keeps developing, that 10m FFP-trade is going to look like amazing business.

He's a different player to N'Diaye who was running past players with what looked like utter contempt yesterday, very impressive to watch

Iroegbunam is more like an all rounder. He seems to know where to be to intercept a lot. I'm watching him thinking, this is the sort of player Onana should have been for us

Ndiaye looked very good for sure, but as you say theyre not the same type. If you watch the cup game, youll see Tim grab the ball in midfield and switch our game to attack with a ball for our winger to run on to, or him running with it himself - insted of the hopeful hoof or backwards pass Im used to seeing. Very refreshing having a midfielder who seems to know what to do with the ball when he get it, insted of the ponderous, start-stop stuff we were served by Gana and Onana.

Really good game from him, think he desperately needs a sitter next to him. He’s still learning the pace of the league and he was finished by 70 minutes, left some huge holes last 20 but he had an experienced head in Gana who just plays almost the same game off the ball.

Hopefully Mangala is more disciplined and we can manage Tim’s minutes a bit better. Got caught a couple of times again on the half term but so positive and driving forward every time he could.

Loads of potential but he’s got to learn quickly as I was saying earlier in the week! Mental expectations on a lad who’s played less than 10 prem games and a season in the championship to be our best CM and the only one to play through.

I reckon him and Garner should work well (in theory). Love that his instinct is to pass forward every time,

It is weird watching N'Diaye turning and beating players so easily with one or two touches. A couple of times I assumed he had taken a bad touch and was about to lose possession but no, it was perfect and he completely skinned them on every occasion. We've been without genuine ballers for a while and now we have signed two for absolutely buttons. I think Chermiti could also do some damage linking up with these sorts of players.

He's been good but please take him out of the team and get Garner in alongside Gueye. Tim can come on with fresh legs for the final 30 minutes - he'll probably be more useful that way at the moment. If he starts, then he shouldn't be asked to play past the hour mark, as he demonstrated against Bournemouth that he doesn't have the legs for it yet - which is completely understandable.
