2024/25 Tim Iroegbunam

Seem more potential in this lad already than I seen in Onana in the whole time he was here, unfortunately I don’t think our manager will get the best out of him seeing as his formation and style in just like paint by numbers. The same way Ndiaye will have the skill and tricks coached out of him.

Wants to be involved with the ball a lot more than Onana did which is why he’s standing out (constantly demanding it) - but he’s nowhere near what Onana did positionally or off the ball tracking back.

There’s a big hole currently with him and Gana as the two.

It's an interesting observation. The midfield was one of either Garner, Gana or Onana. Only one of whom has played this season. Well, Garner came off the bench, but looked off the pace as well as being out of position. No criticism, not ideal for him.

But yes, shows how thin our squad is. Take out a midfield regular or two and one CB and we look awfully open.

Onana definitely didn’t credit for his positioning and off the ball work. Neither does Doucoure (he’s rightly been dropped for how poor he is with the ball but with no Onana either we are badly exposed through the centre).

Agreed, I like both players but the oppo got the CBs really easily. Villa are a top side to be fair but something didn't look quite right.
