Goat , Im not his biggest fan , but in truth , looking at the shabite , Newcatle , Leeds , even to be honest , the Mancs , its a case of , Better the Devil you know , my mate . Serious , even Randy Learner ( that HAD to be his porn-name in College , even if it was his real name !!! ) has neither had to properly put his hand in his pocket , nor , had a season/season-and-a-half under pressure . For now , leave well alone , and pray , that the last decent capitalist mega-rich zucker-vater on earth , has a blinding ,
" Fuk , I should buy Everton F.C. Today !!! " moment .

Dave, what rumours of a buyer waiting in the wing? Come on explain yourself.

They are just rumours circulating that a deal in principle is in place. You either take or leave these things. For example, one poster on other forum, whom I have no reason to doubt and who seems quite sensible in all other matters, states that Amanda Staveley - she of the DIC/LFC negotiations fame - is a contact and has indicted the deal is done. I hear these rumours backed up by people I know personally (all rumours I hasten to add) and tend to think (possibly out of desperation!) that something is afoot.

No evidence, just chatter. But this club needs investment and it WILL come in sooner rather than later...I dont think anyone doubts that now.

So it will be from that neck of the woods 1 would assume?

Bit of a change of tune for you Davek, it used to be "it aint gonna happen EVEEER". I'm surprised...and intrigued.

Cheers for that, Dave. Please keep us up to date on anything else you come across. (y)

I dont know. If it came off post-Kirkby decision would anyone be shocked at more Arab investment? Personally, I dont care where it comes from, and I wouldn't lose any sleep over anyone wanting to come in and 'do a Chelsea'.

No mate, I've always said it wont happen before the Kirkby decision. I have to say, too, that I have no connections and I'm just hearing rumours.

I suppose the goal is to compete with the best. To do that, investment is the key. The investors are usually characters that I wouldn't care to associate with. So what do you do? You get with the programme I suppose. In saying that, there is a limit to what I would tolerate. I think City crossed that limit with Thaskin Shinawatra.

Football is fooked. God, for the days of Latchford, Dobson, McKenzie and King. :(

I agree. I think it was Robin Sisland and myself that argued each other to a standstill on this issue last year. Robin took what I thought was an uber ethical line, but both he and you are right -that we dont want money dripping with blood from a disgusting regime. The Arab cash would also have its problems i suppose. It's a difficult one, but I dont think we can stand still and hope the Co-Operative Bank buys us out and we share the spoils of success with starving kids in the Third World.

Kenwright's a fraud. His lies in the summer and in the past have been nothing short of disgusting.

Right now, I firmly believe that continuity will benefit us over the next couple of seasons.

People have been telling us for years that Kenwright's going to be our downfall, yet here we are again - closer to 5th in the league than 7th and playing our best football in 20 odd years.

Also, if we're valued at £45m with £60m worth of debt, any prospective buyer would have to throw £105m at the club just for starters, then provide funding for a more favourable ground move as well as the expected increase in transfer and wage budgets.

So, way I see it, until someone willing to toss around £250m our way comes along, we haven't got many choices.

The fact that Kenwright wants £200m just for the sale of the club is putting buyers off. If he was to sell at its value, which is less then £50m he would get a buyer tomorrow. Then they could pay off the debts and have a football club that makes a profit for £110m. Then clearly theres the ground issue, which is easy, rebuild GP. Cant see that costing anymore than 90m.

So if greedy Bill sold up for £50m somebody could have Everton Football Club AND Goodison Park with a 60,000 Capacity all for just £200. Then they could invest 50-60m in the squad and get CL every season. And still make a profit.

Am I the only one who is getting a sexual like excitement out of this nugget of info ?

Prem: Moutinho on Everton | Setanta

Yet again the Mout offers himself to us, he has a buyout clause of £19.7m, i doubt we could even afford his signing on fee.

The Portugal international has been told by his employers that if an interesting offer is made to them, he will be allowed to move on.

Oh come on, like 11.8 million wasn't interesting! And he didn't bloody move then.
