Times article, Burnley/Leeds threaten to sue Everton

maybe then why are they pressing for a ruling before June 16th ? That has no bearing on the next season.
That’s right but I doubt the PL would deduct points from a season that’s already completed, especially if it decides relegation places. Would be a messy situation and they probably wouldn’t want the hassle. If they do deduct points, which looks highly unlikely as we’ve supposedly been working with the League throughout, it would be much easier for them to take a few away from the start of next season.

Just think if they did would Everton have a case to sue the FA ?

The case for the defence is simply:

Barrister: "Your Honour, Everton Football Club went beyond the call of duty to weaken itself vis-a-vis Burnley and Leeds United by appointing a manger who was despised by half the fanbase, extending Seamus Coleman's contract, and selecting Andre Gomes for the critical match with Crystal Palace."

Judge: "Case dismissed. You have been punished enough."
