Of coursethe claims are debatable and his “ On the face of it claims “ is exactly that I personally however struggle to see why Everton’s numbers could be so out of sync with everyone other club that’s reported numbers .

My point however was that the Swiss Rambler is not just a nerd on Twitter he has is well respected .
He might be well respected, but that's not for insight here on this. He simply doesn't know ALL the details of what EFC have said to the PL and what the PL have advised.

Overall, he's down-playing the real story here...if there is one....it's the the PL's conduct.

They have allowed a pandemic related reconfiguration of what constitutes a loss and placed, apparently, no definition of it in terms of a figure.

In what way, shape or form is Swiss Rambler correct to say Everton on the face of it have a lot of explaining to do? The only party with the explaining to do is the PL.

The way I read it that using the £82 million over the two years( averaged out at £41 million ) wouldn’t be enough to ensure compliance

The point you make about DCL valuation is interesting but would such a scenario be factored in ? After all other clubs did extract value out of a depressed market and even then there is no amortised value attached to DCL which further muddies the water

Give it a rest lad, @matty1878 will be suicidal …..

I think the boss said it best, I mean what the hell do we all know about "depressed market", "amortised value", and what the hell even is crystalised loses?

Hes provided no evidence why Everton have a case to answer though.

Accounting professionals have signed off on these accounts. Some nerd on twitter seems to think he knows better.

Other teams have done the same thing, and it's been accepted. We have obviously suffered more than others.

I dont know why our fans are flapping. Leeds and Burnley are basically looking at Compo from the PL.

Nothing will happen to us regardless.

His reputation is about simplifying reasonably difficult concepts to the lowest common denominator with shiny graphs. He makes pretty graphs for idiots who listen to talksport. That's his success. It's a big market. But let's not kid ourselves that this fella is a respected accounts guy, as hes not.

The final tweet sums up his clumsiness. We have a lot of questions to answer? To who? On what basis? Why? I'd love him to be asked such questions, but you just know he would avoid answering them. The club has had its accounts signed off by independent professionals in the financial sector. So what questions, does a guy who makes graphs on twitter pose, that they do not? What are his credentials?

He thinks the write offs are a bit big. Ok, is there any analysis to support it? Absolutely not.

Our accounts are not I'm breach of FFP. It's as simple as that. If people dont like it, they need to ask the regulator what the rules are, and how practicable anti-inflationary legislation is, during period of severe deflationary pressure.

But have to sign that they will be impartial which infers independent

I think we are interpret on the frame of a letter we haven't seen by Leeds and Burnley, media are reporting they want an independent commission - to me that sounds like independent from the PL.

You are probably inferring a a PL commission under the rules, by impartial commission picked under PL procedure.

I'm not sure anyone is flapping to be fair.

They probably want an out of court settlement. It looks from the fact the PL have even bothered to respond, they view their claims as beneath contempt.

There will be loads of electricians and plumbers losing their heads, who cant count to 20 but think they can compute accounts, but in the real world, everyone who understands is quite calm.

It sounds like we've at least worked closely with the league, which should help us in a case like this

Got to say this is stressing me out a bit

I'd like the league to shut it down sharpish so we can relax
I don't think it's a reason to stress. I think both clubs will know any serious action is unrealistic, it smells like a play for a little bit of extra compo money to the relegated side to get them to go quietly and I doubt they'll get even that.

The key point on that though is not how big or inflated he or Burnley/Leeds/Uncle Tom Cobley an' all think they are, but that the PL signalled to Everton that they could include them as losses.

Everton didn't make the definition up.

This is all about audacity

We had the audacity to build a new iconic ground
We had the audacity to call out the 6 clubs wanting to leave the PL
We had the audacity to demand an apology from the refs.
We had the audacity to sack Agent FSW
And now the audacity to avoid relegation.

We deserve it for not rolling over….

I mean, whatever they have written down has given compliance hasnt it? The accounts we submitted complied with rules.

On DCL I dont see why it wouldnt be factored in. Writing down assets to help the P & L is very common practice for companies.
Indeed it is but being an academy product DCL has no amortised value attached in effect he has nil value attached
