But what mechanisms were these? It has no actual ballast tanks on the sub itself, they are on a different platform. I have heard people say they can use balloons but how are they inflated, where are they stored, at what depth do they work and at what pressure? They were operating in over 3800 meters of water. They would need a hell of a system that works at greater than 380 bar to work that deep. What’s the failsafe weight, how would that work?

If Titanic was a war ship it would have been classified a war grave upon discovery and been left alone. It should be left alone, and not be gawped at for profit. A sad story.

Even then, it wouldn't guarantee it would be left alone, look at the recent issues surrounding the Prince of Wales

Presumably these billionaires signed some sort of waiver before they went on this jolly. Can't begin to imagine the legalities surrounding insurance and potential law suits that may arise after this is all over. It's not like these guys are three mates from the local who happen to be on holiday and after an afternoon on the sesh one suddenly says 'Oh, who fancies that submarine trip out to the Titanic. Come on, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. My treat!'
