No. But that also doesn't apply to offside so I'm not really sure it matters.Would you consider Villa’s disallowed goal to be a clear & obvious error: yes or no?
It's funny how everyone is blaming VAR when the real problem here is they don't like the rules

Because that standard isn't applied to offside because it isn't a judgement call. A goal is either a goal or it isn't. Offside either is or isn't. The only issue with VAR is it probably isn't as accurate as they're acting like it is. But if you're upset with close calls being offside that's more a problem with the rule than anything. So if it’s not a clear & obvious error why is VAR getting involved

If every call was subject to clear and obvious the RS win the league last year. Things that aren't based on judgment are (rightly) not included in that standard. But it isn’t a clear & obvious error whether or not offside is a clear rule (which is isn’t anyway).

Technically though offside is not subject to judgment. When the ball is played a line is set and anyone over that line is off. The linesman is asked to judge that but he is either right or wrong. It isn't like a foul where different people can think different things without it being black and white.Well, in reality, all facets of officiating are a judgement case otherwise we'd never have pundits discussing refereeing decisions, would we?
If VAR is being use for millimetre offsides we may as well let it dictate all throw ins, all corners etc. too since they shouldn't be based on judgement either.
It should take twenty seconds (at most) to decide if it’s a clear and obvious error and not the minute analysis that’s been set, which is a horrible precedent. If you have to use software and two magic lines to determine an offside the words CLEAR AND OBVIOUS go right out of the window.
