Yes but that only applies if the referee deems the player made a genuine attempt at the ball.

Pulls, grabs etc. will still probably be red.

Honestly dont know why bbc pick pointless cup games for viewing like this,it was never going to be close and the Red card has made certain of that

Why?...

They were a small club with a mostly local fan base... Their fans already pay to go see league games every week, and Champions league games.... Along with paying for Sky sports, and possibly buying 3 new kits for their kids every bloody season..

Just because they don't have the foreign support to fill their Stadium for less important games like the likes of Liverpool and United do is hardly reason to label them poor...

Let's see if we can fill our new 55,000 stadium for domestic cup games if we reach their level of success..

I wouldn't label City as a small club even before the money. They used to sell their old ground out when they were two leagues below the Prem. They don't even fill it on a Champions League night.
