Today’s Football 2019/20 Season

It’s on the club’s discretion, I’m sure the pissants will kick off if we don’t. Best thing we can do for the league’s sake is refuse it, then shatter their unbeaten record, should only be that wonderful Arsenal team of 04 and the Preston side of 1889 as the only 2 teams with unbeaten seasons

that arsenal team would rip this RS team to shred, not saying that because i'm a bitter blue, but the league is absolute eyesore this season. all of the top teams have been woeful, taking nothing away from the RS, but they've only properly beaten about 3 or 4 teams, everything else has been narrow wins in the worst prem ever. But Arsenal's invincibles had to beat some really good teams and they done it at a canter too, some proper world class players too.

Mourinho mentioned every team but us there. Probably like all of us he doesn’t quite grasp we are to in with a shout for top 5. Which is quite a bad indictment of this league really given how atrocious we’ve been.

everyone and their dog knows sheff utd will tail off near the end, he mentioned them and not us i presume?

Nobody is going to force us to do it but it would be horrific PR for the club if we refuse.

Sod PR, the entire frigging world supports Liverpool anyway, and that trophy is staying put a long time. Let's get real, nobody GAF about us. Why should we do that for them? Twitter will be cringeworthy no matter what.

Guard of honour: "They know THERE place. IN ARE SHADO!"
No guard of honor: "THERE bitters. #6timeslad"

Damned if we do....

I’m familiar, but it really doesn’t matter.

It’s tradition. Barcelona have done it for Real Madrid. In this country, Arsenal, Chelsea and United have all given each other guards of honours in the last 20 years as well as countless other teams.

I wouldn’t like it. I know plenty wouldn’t. But it’d show true class from the club. I hope the cards don’t fall and we’re not in that position. But if we are, I think it would be a massive case of bad sportsmanship if we don’t do it. Nobody is going to force us to do it but it would be horrific PR for the club if we refuse.

Oh here comes the alternative viewpoint, marching down the road.

Not really, we make plenty of good PR, the only ones whi would moan are The Echo but Evertonians dont buy that rag anyway

Didn't we give United one?

If we don’t do it, the question would be asked of the club and Ancelotti at pressers - “Why?”

I don’t think there is an answer to that question that doesn’t make it look like sour grapes. And that’s not a good look for us. It’s also not an image we should be contributing to.

It’s the behaviour of a >bitter< rival. It’s something I’d expect of Moyes’ Everton. This is a new era for the club and that sort of perception is what we’re striving to avoid. The classy thing to do (even if we believe they wouldn’t reciprocate if the shoe was on the other foot) is to bite our tongue and do it.

In any case, hopefully City turn it round and it’s not something we even have to contemplate.

City haven’t give an interview to Sky yet as Pep has locked the players in the dressing room at Spurs.

Clearly not happy.

Couldn't care less about being classy. It's a game of football. Not an appreciation ceremony.
