Today’s Football 2019/20 Season

Here's how I feel about it:

If they do it this year then so be it, but if someone had offered me 30 years they wouldn't win the title until 2020 I'd have snatched their hands off.

Realistically they need to have either Van Dijk or Mane or Salah out for months on end to lose out to City again. That said, I wouldn't bet against Liverpool blowing a lead in the PL, it's what they do.

eugh

was really really hoping i wouldnt have to consider that possibility this season

cmon Chelsea do a Chelsea on them next week

The funny thing is City where no worse there than the RS were when they beat Norwich 4-1 but finishing can swing things. City are still playing pretty well but they can't afford to keep dropping points.

don't think I have ever wanted a team I don't support to hold on as badly as that.

Well done to Farke and Norwich.
it's early days so the RS can't start planning their parade yet but that result was a breath of fresh air. Hope the league stays like that this season.

Even if any of them were out, someone like Origi, Wijnaldum, Shaqiri, etc etc would turn up and won't stop slotting i.e. that Barcelona game.

The fact that it's just one club they have to overhaul is making this easier for Liverpool. City have an off-season where they dont hit 90 odd points again will allow this lot in, for sure.

Still: there's this consolation - they are Liverpool FC, and they and their supporters are an industrial scale killing machine that rightfully shouldn't be in existence. They'll ALWAYS have that stain on them, no matter what they win.

That's the difference between Man City and the RS, Man City always look like they've got defeats in them, the RS are relentless.
...well, this City at this point in time at least.

City have been impregnable for most of the last two seasons.

But, yes, Liverpool are formidable and will probably have their first ever PL title this season if they keep this up.

Just dont sweat it. Last season, they wilted under pressure with about 10 games to go, with a 10 point lead at stake. Lost.

Slippy season is well documented.

Every web site and media outlet will be declaring the league over now. Great. They do not do front runners well, as @davek has already alluded to.

?

Didn't they win every game after the 0-0 Derby? Some wilt that.

They wouldnt have gone 10 points clear if they won it, and at that point, reasonably sure they were behind City anyrate. Might be wrong like, but City won sommet like 14 on the bounce in their run in.

Too early yet for our heads to fall off but if they go to Stamford Bridge next week and win, then I'm going to be a wreck this season.

That body blow City suffered against Spurs, which was an incredulous result to say the least, did feel ominous at the time. This match wasn't like that at all, Norwich were full value for the result (and I'm very much looking forward to them doin their trademarked roll over and die routine for when the RS visit Carrow Road).

Looks like we'll just have to win the league ourselves to keep it out of their decrepit hands.
