I said it last year when we chased Europa to our detriment and I'll say it again for this year. Once we are safe the goal should be long term planning. Play Gordon. Play Gibson. Play Kean. Experiment with formations. No real reason to chase 3 extra league spots and the 6m or whatever it is. Use it to build.

Managers only care about their job.

Does it benefit their job playing sub-standard players? Or does it benefit their job by playing the best players they can in every game.

Im not saying Kean, Gibson and Gordon are sub-standard, but im almost certain none of the players you wanted game time last season are even still at the club, building for the future is 1 thing, but if the players arent part of the future, whats the point?

There's a lot to be said for spending wisely and having a plan in place.

That lot, Wolves and Leicester have done the above. Teams like United have thrown a lot of money away in the hope that some of it would stick and don't seem to have a plan in place.

I wouldn't say playing like Leciester, but the circumstances where there all the other top teams are nowhere to be seen its pretty similar!
