Manchester City FC can confirm that Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte have tested positive for Covid-19.
Both players are currently observing a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine. Neither is displaying symptoms of the virus.
Everyone at the Club wishes Riyad and Aymeric a speedy recovery ahead of their return to training and the new season.

I mean it is a very serious disease with complicated repercussions. They could inadvertently infect someone else who might not survive the virus. Why behave so foolishly for a night out? Haven't they ever met girls?
Foden is supposed to be a father with a stable partner. Why is he breaking specific quarantine rules for almost no reward whatsoever?

These two have been given special status, not afforded to the general public during Covid. No not crime of the century, but an absolute two fingers to the England squad, their employers and the general public
