Cavani should've have been sent off and serving a ban right now anyway for his grabbing of Mina in the face during the Caraboa cup tie so I applaud this. He shoudn't have even been on the pitch to score against us. It left a sour taste.

United are a rival for a top 4 place so glad to see them losing a good player for a few games.

cheers

Had some blurt on a public post on Facebook threatening me for suggesting that Cavani’s comments weren’t acceptable, hilarity ensued. A high point was him saying “you should never judge a book by it’s cover, Josh, or you might live to regret it” he’s from Worcestershire. I’m shaking with fear....

Cavani used the Spanish term “n***ito”, which literally translates to “little black man”. United have stressed the word was clearly used in an affectionate manner and has different meanings in his native South America.

Yet Man U kicked up a massive stink when Suarez used the same term.

Sewerz clearly didn't use that word in that sort of way though, and he used it repeatedly.

“It is a term of endearment in Latin America,” Dr Sabatini tells i. “They also have other terms of endearment that are equally offensive. They’ll refer to a girl who is skinny as ‘the skinny one’ or even, la gordita, ‘little fat one’. That doesn’t make it any less offensive.
To be fair, should be mentioned that they use those terms for men aswell. Not saying it's not offensive just that it's not an expression based in sexism

In Argentina (basically identical culturally to Uruguay), they refer to Cruyff as 'El flaco Cruyff' (the skinny one Cruyff) for example.

'Negro' or 'Negrito' are commonly used in Argentina and Uruguay to refer to people of dark hair in a similar fashion to calling someone 'Red' if they've got ginger hair (More common in the US than the UK)

It should probably be pointed out that unlike Uruguay, Argentina never had slavery so don't have an ethnic community of African origin. I'm unaware of any nuanced differences in uses in Uruguay due to this fact. However, Argentinians do use the expressions (negro and negrito) in a more insulting manner directed at people of indigenous origin.

Nuno Espirito Santo: Wolves boss charged by FA over referee Lee Mason criticism

Before the charge was announced, Nuno said he regretted the "timing" of his criticism but that he would "never question the integrity" of an official and was making a comment on the "ability" of the referee.

I don’t see the problem here, Mason is embarrassingly poor.
My uncle is one of the PL referee’s assessors and he maintains that Lee Mason is the worst ref by an large margin. Mason vomits before every game because of nerves.
