I’d love to know how much time should really be added on sometimes.
Like you said earlier, I bet it’s really 10 mins or so.

Have a stadium clock with the match time counting down as they do in Rugby.
You can't stop the clock every time the game stops during normal circumstances like ball out of play for throwing, corners and goal kicks. Stop the clock when subs are made, treatment for injuries and VAR.
That way you just don't need added time as everyone knows exactly what time is left.
On a different subject. With concussion subs being a good thing in protecting players I think blood subs would also be a good thing to have.

I agree on blood subs although in football they tend to be quicker patch up jobs than in rugby so I doubt they'd need to be used as much. Still a good thing to have in case.

For a sport that didn't want to have pros for a hundred years or whatever rugby has been surprisingly proactive since. They take head injuries as serious as any sport, use technology and well and adapt rules for safety regularly (Harry Kane would have picked up a few bans). It's refreshing.

You wrote that it "Definitely leads to mid game commercial breaks," not that it could happen.
Wouldn't surprise me if it did. Football , top flight anyway, has survived without fans for 10 months and set to continue. During the summer, we had 'drink breaks' during games, ideal opportunity for the TV companies to exploit this.

I just watched Brest v Nice, don’t ask why. Anyway I watched it all the way through, and on 78 minutes Morgan Snides was taken off and it was the first time I’d heard his name all match.....nothing changes.....
