So let me get this straight, Aston Villa are going to be without their manager tomorrow and will mostly have to play their U-23s but Man City just got to call a game off 4 hours before kickoff and then played a few days later?

Utterly disgraceful.

To be fair, isn't the situation that Villa are the ones pushing to play as they'd forfeit the game otherwise as it's a Cup game?

My lad explained it to me. FA Cup rules state you have to field a team, Premier League you have a squad of 25 and if lots are unavailable you can ask them for a postponement.

I think Villa could have got it called off but they wanted the game to go ahead and said they would play their youngsters, the only problem is that some of their better younger players have been training with the first team so they won't be available to play.

Yes exactly, Villa's under 23's having to undergo Covid checks to see if enough uninfected.

Gary Lineker saying football might succumb soon as the virus sweeps through training grounds. Honestly think they're just putting off the inevitable now, much better to act decisively before it gets far worse not wait until forced to do so..

Klopp 's comments on their transfer activity concerning a new CB: complaining 'without complaining'; 'defending the owners' by stating its not his job to sort transfers out etc.

It's clear he's trundling the CB situation out as the excuse to be used if they dont win the title.

Its not a happy ship.

I think he'll be pissed off also that Villa are depleted; he'd be looking to escape the FA Cup ASAP in order to reserve energy and not risk injuries...although I still think he'll find a way of throwing that game.

It wouldn't surprise me if Klopp doesn't field a load of kids himself, he will then come out with some crap about it not being fair on Villa so he wanted to balance it out by playing RS kids. The media will then jump on it lauding Klopp for his fair sense of play when in reality, as you say it, will be more about him wanting to get out of the FA cup.

Hate to bring it up but he tried his best to throw it against us...

The FA are in cahoots with the government, they will leave it too late as well.

I think he'll defo field a young line up.

There's a danger to doing that and losing though: the organisation suddenly gets the stink of loser on it. Liverpool\s run of results recently are bottom half class. City, on the other hand, are flying in all competitions and that brings confidence and success.

Farcical that this situation can occur though. Villa have to play kids off why forfeit after most of their first team are struck down with Covid. City had a few players out and they were able to postpone the game against us. Even Villa could postpone their next league game but can’t postpone the cup. Utter shambles.

Villa were resting players anyway as their boss said, but the pressure is on Liverpool to win now

Just for the record, Villa u23s are 10th from 13 teams, one point above bottom in prem league 2 div 2, while the u18s are 3rd 1 point off top in the u18s south league
