Our display from managers to players was a disgrace against Newcastle. May well come back to bite us.

Bit of an exaggeration. It wasn’t even the worst performance that week. Southampton was far worse.

Maybe in years gone by but this season we've morphed into the opposite. That last goal we conceeded against Brighton summed it up strolling around with the game won whereas we could have probably bagged a few more or defended well and added to our GD.

Carlo's tactics didnt help against Newcastle & Leeds mind where we went way too defensive.

The 30 yard volley from Bissouma? Right ok, Brighton really strolled through us there didn’t they.

I just think how we set up. Southampton was a worse performance but it was so painfully obvious Newcastle where there for the taking.

You'll find my posts fuming over it in the Walcott thread - if you miss out on Europe on GD thats the sort of slack mentality that can cost you.

Compare it to how we defend against the better sides this season and the commitment is night and day.

Thats ultimately mentality not ability. Ability wise we should be beating Brighton nine out of every ten times but its the mentality in certain points of the game that can and do cost us - Gomes' lazy arsed challenge conceeding the pen against Newcastle a prime example.

Walcott doesn’t play for us anymore, and if consolation wonder goals in 4-2 wins is all we have to moan about then we really are in new territory.
