You seem to be mixing a few things here. On the one hand you say a new phase begins once mings touches the ball. If that is the case the position of the fullback is irrelevant because you can't be offside when the ball is played by an opponent.
I would say you are not following the complete flow of the discussion between myself and others from its inception.

Some on here were using any excuse to claim that Rodri was offside. I simply refuted them.

For ease of reference.
1 Ran back into an onside position. Did not impede or obstruct Mings in Mings going for the ball (chesting it down). Rodri clearly onside as Mings swings his left leg just before making contact with the ball.Man City goal v Villa 02.jpg
Check the cut of the grass in relation to Rodri and the Villa No. 2. Clearly Rodri is in an onside position.

2. Block-tackles Mings for the ball. No offside here whatsoever given the previous screenshot. Not offside at the point of tackle.

What's not to understand?

Listening to Klopp just then he seems to be expecting a win and maybe so, but could this be a meltdown incoming.
Burnley have been garbage but could trouble these at set pieces.
