If he couldn't get them up again then fine, but his tactics and poor signings were a big reason they went down and he should have at least tried to clean up the mess

If it were my club I'd want the manger to at least try

Even Benitez stuck around at Newcastle when he could have bailed and gotten away with doing so

Benitez hadn't already been there 11 years and hadn't dragged them up 4 divisions (or 3 if you count a relegation) and overall didn't particularly leave NUFC in a much better position than he found them in unlike Howe.
