I'm not sure Emery even wanted him at the time. The chat was he preferred Zaha. A real mess of a decision. If you're gonna spend over 70m then make sure they are a top player and makes sure the manager wants him.

Got to consider the price tag and impact on the teams business strategy.

At £72m, he had to be central to Arsenal for the next five years. Instead, he's a financial black hole with no on field return to show for it.
