Felt a bit sorry for Hasenthuttl at the end there, the banter aside which comes with it.

Raw emotion is somewhat taboo in sport, he bears responsibility for the result like any other but he looked broken.

I had a junior rugby coach that broke down like that after a match in France, he left the job a month later and never coached again.

Despite the glamour and big rewards, sport can be cruel. It's still a person behind the emotion.

I agree with the sentiment and that would normally be my reaction.

In this case though this is a man who chose to stick the boot into a player who had made a mistake and was being subjected to a media witch hunt and his young family having death threats made against them. He must've known what he was doing.

What happened mate?

I think this will have a big impact. He did very well to get away with it last time, but to repeat it, the same scoreline too it will probably re open wounds. In the players minds too as much as anyone.

Some of the anoke being blown up his backside I did find embarrassing I have to say. The idea he was the right man for Chelse etc. They are 12th in the league in his 3rd season.

I'd love Danny Ings here as a post script.
He was on his knees in despair and seemed to be in tears. My wifi is playing up tonight so grainy video but that's what it looked like. It wasn't for long and he had people coming over to him but it was unpleasant viewing. It couldn't be said he doesn't care anyway.

I actually find Soton quite irritating in a lot of respects and thought Hasenthuttl was out of line with his comments on Pickford but I'd react the same if I found someone in that state on the street.

I remember when we got thumped by Arsenal 7-0. I was dreading going into work the following day but actually everyone was great. Fair play to Utd and I'd love us to inflict that punishment on a team but it's a brutal blow from the other end of the scoreline.

I'd agree with that too mate. He was bang out of order there.

imagine being a southampton fan though, literally the best season in your clubs history and you’re languishing in 12th place having been beaten 9-0 for the second time in as many years, must hurt

Bad tackle by the Southampton player. Really nasty.
However, the way they caved in was embarrassing, ressies or not.
You stay tight and organised and you go for damage limitation.
They just waved the white flag.
