I read in another thread somebody else suggesting that if we got Europe next year we would be in a relegation battle.

Erm...I did not. I pointed out our recent past suggests getting in to CL (and even our last Europa campaign) shows we have RATHER THAN having a period of sustained success off the back of it. I was merely emphasising out that one European run does not make us world beaters or any guarantees of future success. Therefore I would take the trophy on offer according to the thread title.

My own opinion is I want us to get European football whether that be CL or Europa and I think Carlo will lead us to handle the extra competition in a much better way thus no we won't be in the same position as previously.

At some point Brighton's luck changes, not talking about the penalties or terrible refs, but they have to start scoring at some point.

All excellent points, for sure, but if I am Wolves and the season they've had, there is no way I am letting my best player or certainly best prospect go cheap.

Neto fits exactly what I would be looking for in a summer signing, I think I posted here before how he would be top of my wish list.

Jota's move looked cheap at the time, they sent the Dutch lad Hoever the other way, valued him at 9m and paid 30m up front for Jota.

I think Neto would cost somewhere in the region of 55m. He's signed on a long contract. I would love to see it happen, but would you do half your budget on him?

Be interesting who we go for like - I think this summer has to be more quality than quantity.

Would rather 2-3 £40-50 million players than 5-6 £20 million players as think the squad is slowly coming together.

Similiar situation to when the RS lumped their budget on Allison + Van Dijk which pushed them over the line think we are similiar albeit more in terms of top 4 but those positions being RW + RB with a good 2nd striker to DCL. If we get europe we cant rely on DCL playing 2 games every week.
