The point that he had players running around and fighting for every ball; this did not happen in his first 2 seasons in charge. It took him a good 4/5 years to embed this and get his players to buy into his philosophy.

We finished 7th in his first season so I’m not sure you could argue that our very limited squad didn’t overperform that year. We had more or less no flair whatsoever, Rooney aside, we were a basic functional team. We definitely wouldn’t have carried wastemen like Gomes and Sigurdsson and got the same results.

Then almost got relegated his second season.

Pretty funny - City are playing the second biggest game in their history tonight and the leading story on the BBC is the snooker lol

Absolute nonsense.
Second season was abysmal yes, but in his first full season he got us back on the map. We only lost a European place on the last day of the season.

Will be 43 soon and still going
Japanese players are ridiculously fit

Could do with a few of them in our midfield tbh

There’s a professional Japanese player who is 54 years old

Their national team is also pretty decent lets not forget they almost beat Belgium at the last World Cup and last month beat Mongolia 14-0

He binned off Ginola as soon as he got there and bombed out Blomqvist a couple of games later for having a strop on when he got subbed.

He added a bit of quality to the workmanlike players which enabled us to push on.
