Great night for Barrow, got taught a footballing lesson but at times showed a bit of a threat.

Money in the bank, now back to the day job and making sure we beat Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

Good to see all the prem sides who went with weakened teams, making multiple changes got through safely enough. Crystal Palace, the only one who treated the competition really seriously going full strength as if it was a big target of theirs, went out against a much changed Watford side (8 changes as if not arsed)

Could have been a bit dangeous... haha

I'd say that's a pretty shocking result tbh, getting hammered that badly does noone any good.

Watford reached the cup final a couple of years ago got totally smashed and embarrassed by City - similar score - and the hangover was felt for a whole season when they were relegated.

We will brush off that result pretty rapidly I can assure you. We’re 3 divisions below and should really be 4 by standards.

When you consider Villa went full second team, making no less than ten changes it puts it into better perspective. Any scratch team of fringe players and reserves can't perform up to standard when just thrown together. I'd have expected it to be a lot less than six tbh, even against a league two side.

Ten changes from their last league game, fringe players often have experience but they usually pick their first choice eleven for league games.

I’m not sure how that dilutes my point. Just because they’re not their starting PL players doesn’t mean they’re not PL level players. Was a good test for our boys, we’ll take it and move on.
