Today’s Football 2021/22 Season

The rules were made abundantly clear.

Likewise, if Brazil were to play England in a friendly, and they brought players over from their Serie A, then they'd be required to do the same.

Football isn't bigger than the law, whether you like it or not.
And I'd expect that if Italy came to play a World Cup qualifier in England and that rule required part of their squad not be available that the game would be moved to another country.

So football should take precedence over everything else when a country is deciding on their own COVID regs? Strange take.
No that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is a country should make whatever restrictions they feel necessary but if those restrictions don't make it possible to host a football match with a visiting squad they shouldn't host one. Play it somewhere else.

And how many players from Argentina's squad did the rules affect?
The answer for me is that the number has to be 0. I think it was four? But for me FIFA should be setting the number at zero or the match is moved.

Again I get COVID makes things wild but it sort of sets a bad precedent. If the visiting team can't bring all of the players it wants the match should be moved elsewhere.

But this all gets away from the main point which is Argentina forfeiting for something outside of the football laws is a farcical outcome.

Well it was 4 players. Brazil has rules, Villa said they liaised with Argentina FA but neither seemed to have bothered to check Brazil's current laws so more fool them.

Also not sure where you're getting Argentina forfeited the game? Says it was suspended by the referee.

That was what the guy I originally responded to was saying should happen.

Well I mean you wrote this so not sure how you can call that other guy's post ludicrous:

Well I'll be making sure the government finds ways to make rules to exclude the best players from whatever team is visiting next then

Literal proof you think football should take precedence over COVID for some reason. It's a sport; if Argentina can't field PL based players then neither can Brazil anyway.

Nah my point was going forward you can apply that in all sorts of different ways if you want to. It's not hard to imagine a shady government doing it. It wasn't meant to be about Covid.

Again my blanket point here is a government law that dictates who a team can and can't play isn't on. If that is in place then the country with said law is not fit to host the game and it should be played elsewhere. Any time, any reason.

Nah, think you've got a very weird viewpoint on this situation so will leave it here.

Sake.
Sat through the first 25 mins of the Portugal game for some reason as it was utter gash.
Nipped into the kitchen and when I came back I’d missed 2 goals..

There is literally no rule. Italian people can travel to England, without isolating.

British residents can not travel to Brazil. Stop being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative.
