Believe it or not there are plenty of people who disagree with you too. I know the football is football and should never change crowd feel they have divine authority over the game but there are other ways to see it.
It's not about divine right and I'm more than happy for change.

Yet, I just find it strange that one person, fairly new to the game, feels that the perspective of people who've grown up with/playing the game is wrong.

How many deadball / set pieces goals have Everton scored this season and their examples?

The two penalties and then Richarlison vs Saints and Keane vs Burnley. Those two you'll disagree with but the Richarlison one is a perfect example for me. It's not the end of the set piece situation when the ball his headed to the edge of the box and then straight back in to be scored. Again it is about the positioning of the players on the pitch. Open play goals are when the players are set up reasonably resembling the standard shape of the team. That one especially does not fit there.

Was the ball in open play? Even to give leeway, did he directly meet the ball from the dead ball?
