Those VAR mistakes have been absolutely horrendous. Yesterday for me is the tipping point where the clubs have to get to together and say to the Premier League "enough is enough, the standard of refereeing is diabolical and the misuse of VAR is scandalous"

It simply can't continue and mistakes like the Brighton offside is no surprise when you find out Lee Mason is on VAR duty. Same as Mike Dean who I'm sure has had to come out about 3 times to admit to mistakes he's made. Swarbrick who is head of VAR yet can't see the West Ham handball?? Absolutely appalling and it really does need to get to the point where teams refuse to play until the PL do something about the officiating as there's no way on earth they aren't blagging some of these decisions for their own benefit.

I don’t understand why they have to be ex-refs to work at VAR. Anyone can learn the rules of the game and then it’s just combining that with the technology correctly. Ex-refs do it just for the payday, they’re rubbish.

Exactly, the positions are filled by referees who were dreadful at their job. Too many "human error" mistakes when they've got every bloody angle conceivable to be able to make decisions.

I know the reason. To allow non-referees into their little bubble would bring it all to come falling down because their incompetence would be instantly exposed.

It's the same very reason why the PGMOL, those who are there to manage and police referees, are all filled with ex-referees. It's a closed shop; it's all back patting.

The best thing they could do is abolish the PGMOL and start again, with a mixture of referees and credible, external individuals who'll hold them to account.

Is there any consequence (punishment or whatever you want to call it) for a referee who makes a clear and obvious error, over and over? The answer is, no.

It really is telling how I've seen it used normally in our corrupt as absolute hell Bulgarian league, but England can't lol

I mean end of the day, they have hired and are ran by the most corrupts refs I can think of - PGMOL is headed by Mike Riley lol

Absolutely hilarious stuff lol

They’re like the police force.

Another over stimulated germanic coach going mad on the touchlines. Sigh.
- Me, Aug '21 re: Brentford and Thomas Frank

I would like to hereby apologise to Thomas Frank, excellent manager and seemingly very good chap in a sea of assholes - down to earth. Nothing like egotistical freaks such as Hassnhuttl whom I had initially had him cut from the same cloth as in my ignorance.

Brentford in general are a very well run club. Play greater than the sum of their parts and no grand pretensions, play fast and direct with good set pieces. Big fan of Big Ivan too, though he needs to delete the Bet365 app from his phone.
