omg, brendan just said compared to last season they're 3 points better off.

you fcking kidding me? they spent £50m to rip the spine out of soton, defender, midfielder, striker. you can't spend £130 off million and say that - that's terribly small time. soton just drew at home to WBA ffs, they're terrible now.
Ahh, now that is a new one, that'll be the "won it before the end of the summer" trophy.

Cause the ref used some common sense and didn't think it was worth sending off a player from ateam with 10 men in the 90th minute.

Good sensible refereeing.

I have to disagree, Seamus.

If a fellow commits an offence which warrants a card then it shouldn't matter how many men his team have on the pitch nor which minute of the game it occurs.

That's not the ref's problem.

He should be carded and if that means a second yellow then be it so.

In fact, to follow your logic, Can should be thinking to himself that he wasn't going to dive in the last minute of a game they have already lost and risk a suspension.

He should be applying some common sense his own self.

Good first 30 minutes, then the Champions shrugged the pretenders off.

Spend some more money Brendan...another £50M might do it.
Just confirms that Rodgers hasn't changed their tactics one bit from last season. They attacked frantically in the first 30 min of every game and since they had ratty to pot them they usually scored, after which they could sit back and counter. When they fail to score in that first half hour their record is abysmal, as theres no way they can keep up that sort of tempo for a full 90 especially with slippy g in the middle of the park.

A bit frustrating for me as I've been a big fan of Balotelli and now he's with the dark side.

Ah well.

As for the match, Liverpool were in it for large stretches but couldn't convert anything. City on the other hand, and specifically Jovetic, were very good.

I think Jovetic could really make his mark this season after being injured most of last season. The guy can flat out play.
