Well it's the halfway mark in the Championship, time to start looking at who might join us in the top flight next season.

(sees Brighton and Newcastle in the automatic promotion places and pulling away from the pack)

Um, never mind.

Still no idea why the red card. They good away with that "double punishment", didn't they?

Players who commit a foul to deny a goalscoring opportunity will no longer automatically be sent off, football's rule-making body has confirmed.

The previous 'triple-punishment' rule required a red card - and therefore a suspension - as well as the award of a penalty under those circumstances.

However, players committing accidental fouls that deny a goalscoring chance will now be cautioned instead.

But deliberate fouls will still incur a red card.

Those include holding, pulling or pushing, not playing the ball, serious foul play, violent conduct or deliberate handball in order to deny a goalscoring opportunity.

Players are past masters at bringing down opponents in certain situations and making it look accidental. Jeez, Carragher of the RS got away with it for years!

The Soton player tried to pull the Spurs player back outside the area, but the Spurs player carried on, because he was in on goal. The Soton player then did an excellent job of TRYING to con the referee into thinking he tumbled in the area, and didn't mean to collide with the Spurs player. IMO, the ref got it right. A deliberate attempt by the defender to deny a goalscoring opportunity. Redmond made it look good, but didn't get away with it.

No.

We had a decent manager - Moyes
Then we had a clown - Martinez
Now we need to transition from a clown to a proper manager.
Yeah Moyes was great. All of those FA Cup final wins and league titles. Good times.

Martinez's first season was more exciting than all of Dave's put together.
