Was that the season that Leeds lost at WBA to an obvious offside goal, or drew, anyrate, and Derby won by 0.345% goal difference?

Must be.
Think that was a different season Roydo, maybe 72/73,we finished 4th and caused a bit of a kerfuffle due to qualifying for Europe, the RS also qualified and at the time teams from the same city couldnt compete

I don't think that was the same season, Roydo.....Leeds weren't in the hunt that season and I have a feeling that decision was very crucial to Leeds and might have cost them the title.

But I could be wrong.

Yeah, you are right. I think. They, Leeds, deffo lost a title to that dodgy goal though, but cant recall who won it. Wasnt us, thats for sure!

Derby won it by a point,I know it was early 70s,but thats about all the detail I have

It was Arsenal's double season....Leeds were runner up and that "goal" effectively robbed Leeds of any chance they had.

Derby won the title under Cloughie the following season.

Im sure they were runners up a year or to later as well I know Derby won it but cant remember the year

Oh I would not be surprised they were second again to Derby a year later in 1972.

Leeds were always there or thereabouts in those days....they were second quite often.

In fact, I am pretty sure they finished second to us in 1970.

@Dario Terracotta @Joey66 and Khal, we gotta stop torturing ourselves over those (and other) lost opportunities, and pray that FM, RK and SW can steer the good ship Everton out of the doldrums and back into the fast lane ;)
Yes but the good old days dont begrudge us thoselol
I have watched the blues since the age of 5 years old seen the great the mediocre the bad years - on the plus side we have not got going as yet and sit 7th so who knows hey?

Giroud goal was brilliant
graham souness on Sky was off his head not only did he say it was lucky, as Fellaini may have headed it almost first carra had to tell him it was Flamini - I think he was still drunk from last night - I know one thing if a LFC player had scored that it would have been a blinder in his eyes - even after the game he was moaning that it was lucky - dimbat!
