Boro playing good football? Really? Every time I watched them it was as exciting as watching paint dry.
Burnley are twice the team.
Barcelona? One season as their manager and he'd be hated more than Franco.
Karanka: Unlike Dyche he's not going to need two bites at the PL cherry. And unlike Pulis he can play football.
A lot of Boro fans can't stand Karanka....mate of mine who goes to quite a few of their games says their football is turgid and boring...without the threat of traore they would be in the bottom 3....
Boro fans clearly know nothing to be fair. They play pulsating football and Negredo is the sole reason they're not above us.

Chance of a Spurs vs Arsenal final. Think that would be a good one.
which one would bottle it less?
Wenger going out beating Spurs in the final would be a good way to go?

That stubborn streak gets in the way of a good manager. The best managers adapt their methods based on the challenges confronting them. Look at Mourinho when Chelsea won the league the season before last. They were playing pulsating football for the first half of the season. Then they started leaking goals, so he changed the style, made them more pragmatic, they stopped leaking goals and won the league. Meanwhile Wenger maintains his commitment to "passing" football (ie taking 15 passes to do what you could do in 3) and Arsenal haven't won the league in years. Don't get me wrong, when it clicks I love watching Arsenal, but when they won stuff they had players who could do the ugly stuff, like Petit and Vieira. Same with Martinez, one way of playing. Fergie had no problem in his teams hoofing it when necessary.Good read that, thanks.
Interesting character. I certainly admire that commitment to playing to a method and sticking with it. He's obviously a special case, but I think there are some managers who's commitment to playing football rivals their commitment to getting the result. There's always been that tension within football between the pragmatists and the idealists. In reality though, with few exceptions, there are no polar opposite positions, just managers who gravitate more toward one end of the spectrum than the other.
