A Spurs v Woolwich final would be mental.

IF we were to win that to finish off Wenger it would never be topped.

Personally I think we will be playing Sutton in the semi though.
Like when we finished off Dalglish in '91 and they were seliing "Merseyside - moaner free zone" T'shirts outside Goodison lol

If we had Liverpool in a Cup Final I'd be watching it through my fingers, terrified we'd bottle job it

Would you really trust the Lilly Whites to come through in that scenario?

I supposed you walloped them in 1991 to be fair and somehow survived Gazza almost committing career suicide to win the Final against Forrest

Maybe it is a new era at Spurs?

That stubborn streak gets in the way of a good manager. The best managers adapt their methods based on the challenges confronting them. Look at Mourinho when Chelsea won the league the season before last. They were playing pulsating football for the first half of the season. Then they started leaking goals, so he changed the style, made them more pragmatic, they stopped leaking goals and won the league. Meanwhile Wenger maintains his commitment to "passing" football (ie taking 15 passes to do what you could do in 3) and Arsenal haven't won the league in years. Don't get me wrong, when it clicks I love watching Arsenal, but when they won stuff they had players who could do the ugly stuff, like Petit and Vieira. Same with Martinez, one way of playing. Fergie had no problem in his teams hoofing it when necessary.
Arsenal have been top four for 20 years, RU last season, and won two trophies in the last three seasons. Not bad going really is it?

By most club's standards it isn't, but the FA Cup isn't what it used to be, and they haven't made it past the first knockout stage of the Champions League for years. And coming 2nd in a 1 horse race isn't great for them either. They were the most stable of the "big" clubs last season, and they still couldn't win the league.

But hold on, qualification for the CL spots is the new holy grail isn't it? Most top clubs would swap a LC or FA Cup win for a place in the Champions League. Wenger's Arsenal have won that prize for 20 seasons. In that time they also won the PL 3 times and the FA Cup 6 times.

They have been England's most successful club apart from United in that time.

Qualification is great, and clubs such as our would love it. However 20 years of qualification and 1 final is not so great. Don't get me wrong, our league is poor these days, so it's asking a lot for an English team to win the CL. But certainly a few 1/4 finals shouldn't be beyond them.

Success is winning the League or the Champions League these days. Man Utd and Chelsea are the most successful teams these days. Arsenal were up there with Man Utd when Wenger took over, but he has lost his mojo for the last 6 or 7 years.
