Qualification is great, and clubs such as our would love it. However 20 years of qualification and 1 final is not so great. Don't get me wrong, our league is poor these days, so it's asking a lot for an English team to win the CL. But certainly a few 1/4 finals shouldn't be beyond them.

Success is winning the League or the Champions League these days. Man Utd and Chelsea are the most successful teams these days. Arsenal were up there with Man Utd when Wenger took over, but he has lost his mojo for the last 6 or 7 years.
The issue is over sticking with a particular style of play: you say it gets you nowhere and pointed to Arsenal; I accepted that example and then demonstrated that it proves the exact reverse to your belief.

No it doesn't demonstrate that at all. When Arsenal "mixed it up" more and had 2 holding midfielders they won the league several times. Now they adhere to tiki taka and they haven't won a major trophy since (The FA Cup doesn't count by the way, ask Louis van Gaal)

but what about those great wins over villa and hull?

A Spurs v Woolwich final would be mental.

IF we were to win that to finish off Wenger it would never be topped.

Personally I think we will be playing Sutton in the semi though.
Ha ha....if it was Arsenal don't forget they are a top 6 side none of whom you can beat...flat track bullies

The FA Cup doesn't count...and the continued securing of top four (RU last season) doesn't count either. Ok.

As for Arsenal being different now than a few years back: the only difference is that they haven't sustained a title challenge. They play with a lot of pace still and they have a lot of technically proficient players in midfield and they have some steel in there too. You think players like Giroud, Walcott, Wellbeck, Oxlade-Chamberlian and Ozil play tiki taka?!

The system is the same as always. If the psychological frailties of the players wasn't there they'd have been champions in the last few seasons.

I would agree with you if they'd only had players with those frailties for a couple of years, but they haven't, and Wenger keeps buying the same type of player. Also, Giroud never seems to start a game, The others you mention are in and out of the team other than Ozil, and he is certainly guilty of overplaying.

Hope Sutton get beat 500-0

Haven't they made enough money off the telly and that to take their shirt sponsor deal?
Also I hope their actual sponsor jibs them because why should they lose potential revenue from being on BBC1 at prime time against one of the biggest clubs in the country.
