Looked to be a great finish from Alonso for the winner but it was from quite a narrow angle. Spurs just lost their heads a bit, didn't clear their lines. A draw would have been decent for them.

Both of them were the difference maker in at least two different title winning sides as well

Kante for Leicester and a Chelsea, Makalele for Real and Chelsea

They're the sort of player you need in a successful squad. Both are prepared to do the unnattractive yet necessary stuff that's needed when you're challenging for a title

It's why Arsenal haven't won a title since Viera left

I think its more that Wenger sells all his best players to others in the top 4.

Meh, we play great football in 95% of our matches, i'll take a defensive performance and 3 points against Spurs at home

when you have to open it up its fine, there is plenty of attacking talent there to do some great stuff but holy hell when its 1-0 I hate watching it.

that being said we admittedly are set up the same way.

It's game management really, Spurs grew as the game went on, but honestly, i always thought that we were in control of the match, Spurs were limited to shots from outside the box, and we missed 2-3 clear cut chances our selves too, so i am very satisfied with our performance considering we were missing 3-4 starters
