Spurs are a better team than Juve, difference is Juve as a club have the weight of their European experience behind them. That was just the 4th time Spurs have been in the European Cup. As a competition it’s a novelty for them.

Spurs have always been tagged as a club that plays stylish football but without the substance to go with it. Pochettino is a great coach but he’s got a big job on to change the way Spurs are perceived from outside, but also how fans and players perceive the club from within. That tonight was a big blow. Had they lost to a better side fair enough, but they didn’t. They managed to lose a game they were in complete control of. The crowd went dead quiet after Higuain scored the equaliser...still leading yet they lost faith, indicative of a club without experience of achieving at this level. Spurs resorted to being Spurs. As a club they are moving in the right direction though.

Alli dives and he is the biggest cheat in football. Juventus dof it and it is a masterclass. Double standards?

The worse dive tonight was Trippier. But the diving with Spurs seems to be at a level far higher than most clubs, and that must come from the coach. And of couse from Pocho comments about diving, it is no wonder people are beginning to hate Spurs. When a coach says diving is 'minimal details', and that tricking the opponet is just part of football, then he is not doing himself too many favours.

Just read Chiellini’s comments.

Tottenham Hotspur fall victim to Juventus’ unshakeable self-belief as big-game experience wins out

https://www.eurosport.co.uk/footbal...me-experience-wins-out_sto6666907/story.shtml

“We knew Spurs were weak in defence and were mentally fragile. They always miss something to get to the end.”

The whole club doesn’t believe as they don’t have the weight of history behind them. The fans should have been roaring the team on when Higuain scored, lift the place, rather than silence which instilled it with fear.
