It's very fashionable all of a sudden.

They have to be trouble makers with little or no interest in football, would you risk a lifetime ban from the club you support to run on like that?

Or they are absolutely bladderd. Thinking about it, it's probably just that. Only takes one of these nutjobs to be carrying a knife and we'll be back behind cages before you know it.

You'd have to be out of your head to come on and attack a player.

At some clubs I would agree entirely, but others are really hot on monitoring banned individuals and a JP probably wouldn't spare someone flouting one.

No doubt they will also at least throw a sec39 common assault at him but if he gets a custodial will depend on a few things.
The thing is Phil some of these thugs get banned from all football grounds and still end up getting in to games following England and their own teams abroad no problem.

Their passports can be confiscated and told to appear at a station at a designed date/time, but unfortunately some flout this or simply know ways to get around it.

A foreign force will not be too concerned either: they'll receive intelligence reports with names and faces but is it worth their time? I suspect they doubt it does.

If they do get up to no good then most foreign police will deal with it in their own ways and means - a hiding - knowing that they're unlikely to receive a complaint.

Yes I'm sure you care deeply every time someone in the world gets punched, especially when the person who got punched is well known for having behaved like a scrote numerous times.

So that's justified him getting a smack on the pitch, getting manhandled by a steward and having a scumbag laughing over his baby brother passing away on social media? No offence but [Poor language removed]

Didn't some goalie get sent off for decking a fan who tried to punch him ?
As silly as it is if Grealish had dropped the guy in self defense the right decision would have been to send him off because football is mad sometimes. In the refs eyes violent conduct is violent conduct and should always be punished the same.

This was someone on a football pitch - and this is a football forum. What if that blurt had a sharpened instrument? Take the identity of the player out of it; this kind of behaviour could literally end the game we love (even if our team is infuriating) as we know it.
