I'm afraid that you're wrong. To quote the great man "I was with Derry City when I got the call-up to play for the North, and I turned it down because it's not my country, it's never been my country. I'm an Irishman."

Yes, I know.
He played 7 times for NI under 21s according to Wikipedia.

Seen what you did there lol

Olay Gunner Solsk Ja. Decent appointment. Gets the club, resonates with the players and fans, has players onboard who were not performing for Mourinho, has achieved good results. That's all you can ask for with a caretaker boss. Don't appoint a caretaker if you're not prepared to give him a shot of getting the job on a permanent basis. He did well and deserves a shot.

He'll be gone before the end of next season. Appointing someone because the players and supporters like him is incredibly naive, managers need to have long term visions and philosophies. What type of players does he want? What style of football does he want to bring to the club? Who's going to be convinced by him to join the new United rather than another European powerhouse?

People don't want to hear it and idiots like Paul Ince tried put himself in the shop window by referring to it but Solskjaer, 1 or 2 results aside, hasn't really achieved anything as interim boss that many others wouldn't have. That squad went from effectively on strike to going back to work and playing to their usual levels, whoopdy do. The Paris comeback sure, that was really was special and a games like Spurs away and Arsenal at the Emirates in the cup, they were great wins. But other than that everything else was fairly easy.

Pochettino was their man for the long term to build a new dynasty and I still feel they'll end up going back for him. He has a proven record of buying the right players, developing and bringing through youngsters, conducting himself with class (most of the time) and giving off this "trust me" aura to the supporters like Ferguson did even when times are bad.

Solskjaer getting it is a classic example of heart ruling head and Ed Woodward again proving he knows little to nothing about how football on the pitch actually works.

He's got United playing some nice stuff though.
That's half the battle.
